Where it all began - Danny

My name is Captain Daniel Walker. Most people call me Danny. Cause that's what Rafe calls me. Who am I? I'm just a farmboy, not all that important. I was there when the Japs attacked Pearl Harbor. I remember it as though it were yesterday. But in fact it was 7:53am in the morning of December 7th, 1941.

But I am getting ahead of myself, let me go back to before I was in the service, to when I was a boy, growing up in Tenessee with my best friend and wingman, Rafe McCawley. We used to have the best of times out there in the fields of his daddy's farm. My Daddy fought the Germans in Vietnam. He wasn't real nice all the time. But he inspired me to be a pilot, and so did Rafe's daddy. He used to tell me that if you worked hard enough anything was possible... and I suppose you'll have to stick around to find out if he was right.
